TWO EVANSTON RESIDENTS JOIN HARRINGTON INSTITUTE OF INTERIOR DESIGN

Yolanda Hardy and Bilal Heredia, of Evanston, recently joined the Harrington Institute of Interior Design admissions department.

Hardy, admissions support manager, is responsible for managing the support process for the admissions department. She previously worked at Peapod, Inc., as the senior benefits administrator and human resource lead. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from National Louis University.

Heredia, admissions representative, is responsible for advising high school seniors and their families through the Harrington admissions process. He previously worked for an intranet company in San Francisco as the manager of the customer service department and holds a bachelor’s degree in advertising and design from the University of San Francisco.

The Harrington Institute of Interior Design is a four-year college that offers flexible scheduling for a bachelor of fine arts degree in interior design, an associate of applied science degree and a professional diploma.

Founded in Chicago in 1931, Harrington seeks to foster an environment that maximizes students' intellectual and artistic potentials. The majority of the faculty are practicing interior design, architecture and fine art professionals. Harrington is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design, and the BFA program is accredited by the Foundation for Interior Designer Education Research (FIDER). Harrington is also recognized by the Illinois Board of Higher Education.

The process of Interior Design employs creativity and graphic communication skills. Harrington College of Design's Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design Program is designed to develop these skills through problem-solving in two-dimensional and three-dimensional media. The student is challenged to develop critical thinking, conceptualization, and spatial visualization abilities. These skills can form the foundation for both hands-on and digital design and communication tools, which are integrated with an understanding of the interior environment in the design studio.......................................
